Military Base Youth Centers
We’ve had the honor of putting on programs for both youth and adults at several military bases, including:
- USAFA Falcon Trail Youth Center in 2012, 2016, and multiple events in 2017
- Peterson AFB Youth Center in 2021 and 2022, and STEM-Rocks event in 2013 and 2015
- Fort Carson school programs in 2016, 2017, and 2018
- Front Range Conference educator training 2012, 2017, and 2019, USAFA Falcon Club
One reason that base youth centers love our programs so much is that kids get hands-on experience with a surprising amount of military equipment. From Skedco stretchers and TP-6N field phones used in cave rescue, to rappelling and rope ascending on a mobile A-frame, your kiddos will get exciting, hands-on experience with a variety of military gear used in caving.
Plus, the CaveSim staff that lead our programs have expertise in real cave Search and Rescue, which make the program even more exciting for participants.
We’d love to bring CaveSim to your base for a school-aged program or staff training!
What's included:
- Exploration of the mobile cave, which gives kids a computerized score based on how carefully they explore. Participants explore 60' of cave passage that includes multiple levels.
- Rope and pulley lessons on the 12' CaveSim vertical caving tower. Participants get to work in teams to lift each other up the tower with help from CaveSim staff.
- Teamwork activities with a real rescue stretcher.
- Fun, high-energy bat games for kids of all ages (even pre-K)
- Hands-on activities with field telephones, which teach communication skills and STEM lessons.
- Fun personal challenges with a squeezebox, which we use to teach math and measurement skills.
